Sunboard has a very low density due to trapped air bubbles, whereas a WPC sheet contains far more tightly packed plastic. This makes WPC sheets much denser and stronger than the typical foam core boards available in the printing market.
Although WPC sheets are significantly stronger than regular sunboard sheets, they retain the flat, smooth finish characteristic of sunboard, making them highly suitable for all printing applications.
At Orchid Digitals, our WPC sheet prints consist of three integrated layers to ensure maximum quality and longevity:
We ensure your image is reproduced using the CMYK colour gamut on a 100-micron-thick vinyl media. We use high-quality eco-solvent inks or UV inks. Our prints are mounted on the smooth, lightweight plastic panel using our industrial-grade hydraulic laminator to ensure a bubble-free, wrinkle-free, and smooth finish.
Lamination is not just an option — it is essential for longevity. You have a choice of matte or glossy finish for the lamination top coat. This protective layer significantly enhances the life of the print by shielding the image from dust, water, scratches, and everyday wear and tear. Just like the mounting process, the lamination is performed on our industrial-grade hydraulic laminator to ensure a smooth, bubble- and wrinkle-free result.
Since WPC sheet prints are inherently heavier and thicker than their 3 mm / 5 mm Sunboard counterparts, installation is designed for permanence.
WPC sheet prints are primarily utilised when a customer wants a poster print that looks thick and premium, or when exceptional durability and longevity are non-negotiable.
